Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

Before the internet, a commons was produced physically. A "common" meeting place. In those times, emergence and commons went hand in hand.
After the internet, a commons is produced online. It is produced by creating an online space and inviting people in. An online emergence is only visible when it is shared.

Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

Lots of new posts across the board in the last day. I'm still catching up. But sharing the event sounds right to me, McAlec and Vampyrik. What's the best way to do that?

possibly inviting others to the facebook event, and getting them involved. When I spoke to friends who usually share the same interest as me they considered the idea to be not to their taste (the nice way of putting it).

I'd say inviting friends, but I doubt any of them would be very interested in a half-over ARG when most don't know what an ARG is..

True, McAlec. I guess part of the challenge is summarizing the story and the ARG form well enough to make it interesting.

Doesn't look like anyone is having much success in promoting it...
The little (and fleeting) interest that I have created has come from people wandering by as I was grappling with some of the previous (and far more visually appealing) puzzles in the other levels.

In any case, I'd say talking about it face to face will get more people interested than anything through social media.

Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

That's probably true, McAlec. I posted some things early on Facebook and people checked it out. It's now a matter of getting people to sign up for the event itself which is a low-intensity action but one we'd need a lot of people to join in order to reveal the entire image.

Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

I've gotten a few people on board, but not many. It seems as if more is revealed for every five people that join.

There's also the question of what happens Friday, too.

EDIT:
It doesn't seem as if we'll be able to get enough people to join the event and unveil the image before tomorrow. I'll launch another assault on my friends that would be even moderately interested in it, but I fear it won't be enough.

Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

The date was pushed back on the Facebook event. It seems to be linked to our completion of that challenge. Has anyone figured out a smart way to get more people to join so more of the image is revealed?

Re: sp6culation/6RETICLE

Oh nice, McAlec. Did you post that on Facebook or on some other forum/board? I put up something on Facebook for now.

It was on Facebook, but I think I'll branch out to various other internet stuff to get a wider audience.
