There is nothing on the screen, but listening you'll hear paprs.exe spelled out. But I can't find the link.

Keep listening, there's a little bit extra at the end after .exe (sounds like minus a), I couldn't find the link either.

For previous rank 2 passwords, it has been the name of a US state. Also, the last one had a picture of a coin, which I believe this to be as well (looks pretty round).

We're never going to be able to unscramble the image with the text over it. The decoder program works by checking line similarity, and when there is block text over it, it's going to find too many mismatched similarities.
I have a feeling that the image is a decoy, and someone is actually going to have to play through the puzzles. Unfortunately my monitor isn't big enough to get these EXE files to work properly.

Well, Hollywood, you are right. Because of that I have edited the Image, so the red text ins now in background colour. This confuses the programm much less. But still, it does not work as good as I had hoped.
But what exe files do you mean? Seems I have been missing something.
Edit: ah, ok THESE exe files. when I'm home I will try playing through them, see what I can find. Maybe the image really is a decoy, but I will also try to find a matching coin on google, like mcalec I belief this is the best bet on what the image shows.

Nice work! Just because I'm curios: Where did you get Sullenberger from?

"Sully" Sullenburger was the pilot of the plane in the picture. You probably didn't hear or heard little about the emergency landing when it happened, but it was all over North American news.
May I ask where in Europe you are from?

You are right, never heard of the incident before.
I'm from Austria, Innsbruck to be precise, the capital of Tyrol. Not much happening here, but we do have a lot of geocachers, no wonder considering we sit in the middle of the alps with plenty of nature to hide stuff in. And that's why I'm nerd-raging badly not beeing able to acompanie you at your search out in the field. Well, at least we'll have a lot of things to make sense of in the future, I suppose, that will keep me busy.
