Wait what the hell?  We got the same one? Either someone is seriously fucking with us, or that is just strange mistake/coincidence.

The scrambled text on the Nexus page.  Again with the caesar cypher.   According to my conservational biology major girlfriend, this is all accurate, and there are tons of them at her college.

THE SLIME MOLD SPENDS MUCH OF ITS LIFE AS THOUSANDS OF DISTINCT SINGLE-CELLED UNITS, EACH MOVING SEPARATELY FROM ITS OTHER COMRADES. UNDER THE RIGHT CONDITIONS, THOSE MYRIAD CELLS WILL COALESCE AGAIN INTO A SINGLE, LARGER ORGANISM, WHICH THEN BEGINS ITS LEISURELY CRAWL ACROSS THE GARDEN FLOOR, CONSUMING ROTTING LEAVES AND WOOD AS IT MOVES ABOUT. WHEN THE ENVIRONMENT IS LESS HOSPITABLE, THE SLIME MOLD ACTS AS A SINGLE ORGANISM; WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS COOLER AND THE MOLD ENJOYS A LARGE FOOD SUPPLY, 'IT' BECOMES A 'THEY.' THE SLIME MOLD OSCILLATES BETWEEN BEING A SINGLE CREATURE AND A SWARM.

Yeah, I found the journal entry that gasmoney posted, it was also crumpled up in the trash.  This prompted further investigation which revealed a second identical copy balled up and under the table.  I also finished in about half an hour and spent 15ish minutes snooping.  I almost managed to e-mail myself the contents of the folder "reveneural" on the guys desktop, but it was to large even when zipped and he came in to check on me, so I had to leave.  Nothing really interesting in terms of the testing though.  No red screens or anything.

I don't know how to upload images, but I found #42 at the NY testing site.

I assumed I was a bug of some sort, maybe a roach.  That makes the swarm idea make sense, and I liked the notion of a bug in the system.  Also it explains the only eating dead things.  On the other hand, rat still makes sense for those and was mentioned.  Good spot.

I had noticed, but didn't ascribe any meaning.  I think 8 nodes is a safe bet at this point though.

I'm not as much a fan of answering who we are, as the way we do that is allusions to real life as though it is somehow separate from the game world.  Isn't the idea of the ARG medium that there is no break?  That said, I've been awful about sticking to that, so I will tell you I am (alongside several others) playing this in part for a college course, and our professor is the one who informed us about its existence, 2 months before it began in fact.

More interesting to me is the first couple questions of why are we not talking about the narrative portions of the game?  My theory is the one I gave in another thread on why we can't analyze the medium without talking about the game.  I think that at the moment the narrative is relatively cloudy, and hard to discuss without citing things we don't really understand.  I think that alongside that our processing of the narrative is a more personal experience, while the puzzles are solvable collaboratively.  As much as you might discuss a story with friends, you are sort of unable to do that without a shared understanding.  AS such, we will have to wait for more to be revealed before we can really discuss that, perhaps not even until somewhat near the end.

I didn't notice that, but I doubt it means anything other than that whoever is writing this is aware and updating it.

That would be why I suspect it is a perfect thing to create as a troll, but yeah, with an ID of 2 I think I'm done being suspicious.  On to more puzzles.

My response to this is that I like the idea of questioning the form of the game, but feel that all our arguments are at the moment grounded in evidence whose interpretation is still under discussion.  Given more time and a more complete picture I suspect your questions will become easier to address discussion style without falling away from the discussion of form.

Several people on these forums can vouch for me in person.  As posted on reddit, McAlec has me at least convinced that he isn't a plant, and he was the only suspicious one in my opinion.  I don't suspect any of you.  My current question is whether or not the "NEX" user is a troll or actually a part of the game.  Did NEX communicate via the forums last time?

I've been trying to find the SNL episode, it looks like the different parts are from different episodes unfortunately. At least I think so. All from season 35 though.
