Or just memento mori, if we say the missing zero is at the beginning of that unit instead of the end. And it is indeed a skull--I think if we pieced it together with the first 40 eva entries we might get the top of its head too.

For the record: plaintext, caesar shift (13), Nex-style morse code (beginning W's just spell out "Nex"), number code, and Vigenere cipher of "WE are here." with "NEX was here" as plaintext.

Oh, and ASCII:

Maybe we actually need to communicate in code--probably a Caesar shift, maybe Morse Code or the number code (A=1, B=2 etc.) that showed up a bit on the blackswn pages. Not sure what we're supposed to say, though.

Already posted this on the Reveneural Testing thread, but for completeness:
5.2 is NeuroFitness609

Just came back from the UChicago one--they let me in when I buzzed the lobby. It was in the Game Changers office (they're people at UChicago who design ARGs, I believe.) It sounds like it was the same as the others, including Nex interfering. Kostas was right about the password: 906SS, which gives us NeuroFitness609.

I also got a journal entry (42, presumably the same as the Vassar one) and took pictures until my phone died halfway through which I'll upload later.

The Walker Museum drop was a lot less glamorous--just a USB drive outside of Patrick Jagoda's office (he's the creator--one of the creators?--of this game, not to ruin the whole this-is-not-a-game thing), so not too much mystery there. The drive also had a pin attached to it that I'll post a picture of along with the files later this evening.

I haven't looked at the contents of the USB drive too closely, but it's more Citigroup stuff, more stuff from L.P. and a bunch of photos with various Photoshop-y effects applied to them.

FYI, just got the UChicago drop, going to post things later tonight.

There's nothing to take pictures of, we're locked out. Can anyone show up right after the building opens tomorrow morning?

#18 Re: Speculation v2 (10/11/12 - 12/02/12) » /1DEADDROPS/ » 12-10-22 03:36

I think a friend of mine will be able to do the Duke one.

#19 Re: Speculation v2 (10/11/12 - 12/02/12) » /1DEADDROPS/ » 12-10-21 20:41

Well, just contacted my one friendly acquaintance at Duke. Odds are he'll just be confused/too busy to actually show up, but I figured it was worth asking.

#20 Re: Speculation v2 (10/11/12 - 12/02/12) » /1DEADDROPS/ » 12-10-21 00:46

...nvm, presumably time is the countdown on the page. I'll be there, but maybe other UChicago folks want to come too?

#21 Re: Speculation v2 (10/11/12 - 12/02/12) » /1DEADDROPS/ » 12-10-21 00:38

Do we know what time these are going to be? I should be able to do U. Chicago, schedule permitting.

I'd be in favor of a wiki--and I'd work on it, especially now that we've got a 6-day lull in puzzling.

If the admins keep editing out your spoilers, that suggests a potential way to prove you're human: post a spoiler on the reddit, where the admins can't just delete it (unless Foll is a plant too...I'm getting a bit paranoid, I admit). I'm a little hesitant to suggest this, because I don't want spoilers...but I *do* want to a) find out whether you're human and b) see how the game creators react to large parts of the story being spoiled. Given the differences from the last run (old players popping up and NEX talking to them), I'm beginning to suspect this isn't so much a rerun as a continuation of the original game anyway, so spoilers might not actually spoil the game.

Thoughts?

Hi, Nex. We can hear you. Can you tell us where/when you're sending these transmissions from?
